Default In lieu of recent correspondence, ...

I have taken the liberty of writing my own open letter to the AG community. My appearances here are all too often brief and fleeting, for which I wholeheartedly apologise. The reasoning behind such cameos will be revealed in the course of this letter.

The past is fading. Many things, cultural, social, and personal are coming to an end this year. This fact is not greeted with dry eyes. School, for all it put me through, gave me an education of which I'm proud. Being a child, under 18 at least, was a carefree age, in that those cares I had, are trivial in comparison. Many of the bands of my youth, are releasing "Best of"s, many important cultural films, The Matrix & Lord of the Rings, are coming to a close. This year I have seen my 4 favourite musicians; Ryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan & David Bowie, amid a host of others. My friends and I are now students, most in different colleges. My great fear is that we will drift apart, separated as we draw less in common than we had before. My dream failed, my sweetheart doesn't feel the same this time around. So much is ending.

The present is alive. So much is beginning. I am currently studying Law in Trinity College, a presitious honour, for which I am humbled and overawed. I am the contemperary of some of the best minds in the country, and pit in my wits in debate and conjucture. I enjoy the diversity of culture, people, and experiences in college, but always attempt to remain true to myself. I do not, principally, drink alcohol, smoke pot or ciagarettes. Indeed I am loath to go "on the pull", given my social incapacity and general akwardness. This is who I am. College opens up new possibilities to me, but I still hope to remain myself throughout. The divergence it presents some times saddens me, in moments of weakness, as I contemplate how different the present may be, if not for the weakness, failures, and regrets of the past. It is these that dominate my nightime thoughts, my musings, and my writings.

The future is coming. So much shall be. Redemptore - for my sins, let me be forgiven. I feel weighed down by the mistakes of the past. Foolish childhood declarations of romance, that have marred the present and the future. Abuse of substance that sustained me then but crucifies me now. For this, for all I have done to you all, and to dear others, I am sorry. I was the way I was. Now let me be the way I am. I see myself diverge in a million different directions. Last night I held a thought in my head, nae a number - one. Unity. Integration. Peace. For this is what I must search, if I ever hope to find myself, and my little girl. Love still passes through my veins, so foolishly I swore, never to let it die. A promise felt is a promise kept. This promise must I keep, for all that has been before, every road I have taken, every choice I have made - has led to this road. This road must I travel alone. It will take me to New York, where I will learn to live without consequence, and party in search of lost time. It will take me to Africa, where I shall find humility, grace, and faith as I help others to help themselves. It will take me to Tibet, in the years to come, seeing Europe by train, the Middle East, and the stars, to find silence, myself, and peace. Finally, it will take me home - a man, no longer the little boy lost, but one of whom my ancestors would be proud - one of integrity, sincerity, and humility - one who dreams, hopes, believes, and lives in the knowledge that the forever will be kempt by starlight with my dreams of Old; that all is one, and one are all, that true love lives forever. So shall it be, if I hold my course.

With this I thank you for your time, and welcome your thoughts, wishing you the best of life this Christmas, and a bright new dawn for the coming year. I will be present in a functional level for ForeverDream, and hopefully share a dream or two with you all, when time and tide permit.

With love, may you dream forever,
James

You, James, are an entire universe unto yourself, fecund with startling wonderment and discoveries. Just the very thought of you is an orphic gift for me each time. Happy Holidays.

And thank you for adding more warmth to AG's fire.

James, I don't know you very well (yet), but you seem like a great guy. And if you manage to complete this journey entirely... well, I'd say you'd have the perfect life to turn into an adventure game

Intrepid said it, you ARE the universe in yourself! I'm so excited for you, and you are quite right in saying that some things end and other things begin, it's life! Enjoy it, and it's going to serve you well. Oh, and your journey is affecting mine, so in fact your life enriches mine! Thank YOU, James!
