Can you explain what you mean by "simulated"? I have thought of a ton of classic "old man" movies (that I won't name in case I want to use them for later trivia questions

1. Name the famous silent film that originally ran over 9 hours, but was trimmed to 2 hours and 20 minutes against the director's will. Not too long ago there was a reconstruction of sorts, where the film was lengthed to 4 hours and 10 minutes through the use of old photo stills and other surviving elements, with intertitles, standing in for the lost scenes.

About that Greed reconstruction, it's pretty fascinating. I taped it at 5 in the morning when it premiered on Turner Classic Movies about five years ago.
