Best Music of 2003

Seeing that 2003 is almost over, I thought it'd be interesting to put your favourite albums of the past year up. I'll go first.

1. The White Stripes- Elephant: Best rock album in years. Sure to be a classic.
2. Joe Strummer- Streecore: Joe's best work since The Clash, and sadly his last.
3. The Mars Volta- De-Loused in the Comatorium: At the Drive-In were good, but they're even better.
4. Radiohead- Hail to the Thief: Radiohead once again prove why they're one of the best bands out there.
5. Muse- Absolution: Insanely over the top rock, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Honourable Mentions:
Dizzee Rascal- Boy In Da Corner
Warren Zevon- The Wind
Frank Black- Show me your Tears

Phew, I just created a Best Game thread before seeing this... Judging by the title I thought you had beat me to it....

As for music, don't ask me.... I only listen to mp3s....

I have listened to Joe Strummers album but other then that I don't think I have heard any of your albums, SamandMax.

I better think really hard to make a list of my own. Let me get back to you on that one.

American Hi-Fi - The Art of Losing (This one is completely addicting)
Styx - Cyclorama (Even without DeYoung these guys are awesome)
Nickelback - The Long Road (Ok, so I haven't heard the whole album yet, but what I've heard has been awesome)

Well,
This is pretty easy for me,since I've only bought two albums this year.

Iron Maiden - Dance of Death

Iron Maiden have discovered a new sound ever since Brave New World. For one thing, the use of orchestral sounds predominates most of the songs.This album is certainly not a reflection of Maiden's greatest works.Though, most of the songs really are memorable...the others sound like tired hacks.

Songs I liked on the album...

1.Paschendale
2.Dance of Death
3.Rainmaker
4.Gates of Tomorrow
5.Wildest Dreams

Usually, a Maiden album is such that you absolutely adore all the songs...but that is not the case here,unfortunately.And in the words of a very wise man.."You are left with a feeling that you've heard it all before".

Blur - Think Tank

When I found out that Blur had released a new album..I just had to buy it.
I've been their fan ever since the absolutely gorgeous Parklife. Which,unfortunately, was their greatest work. They have not been able to reproduce that in Think Tank. Graham Coxon's apparent absence has left a sort of monotonous feel to the entire album.I did not like most of their electronic experiments in 13, but somehow that was a better album than this one.Damon Albarn may be better off with hip-hop I reckon.
