What's the 'Bible' edition? Is it the big (expensive) boxset that has LotR and The Hobbit in one (The Hobbit seperately but in the same box)?

It means printed on Bible paper, a very long lasting cotton based thing.

It's basically the Mercedes Benz of Paper, and I assume this edition is a very high quality edition.

Ah... I would find it more interesting if it was formated in the two column Bible style. I don't really like Bible paper that much.

It's called the Bible edition simply because the text is printed on very thin, Bible-like paper, making the book of over 1000 pages much slimmer.

The first editions are of The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. Both were published as a result of Tolkiens son, Christopher. Neither are valuable at the moment but Megs got them cheaper than they are currently selling.

I'm passing all this info on via Megs btw. I wouldn't have a clue about any of it otherwise. I love my Ringwraith on Steed though.

He's great though, isn't he? 38cm high. The reigns are real leather btw, and the base has the map carved into it which looks really great too.
