There's a really funny review of Eragon over at scifi.com...the reviewer really skewered it, even going as far as replacing all the character names with those of Star Wars characters. Haven't read the book, but the mix of "love it or hate it" reviews for the movie have got me curious now.

Why? Why do they say it is bad? Those people obviously have the wrong outlook. You need the outlook of a child. But the stomach of an adult. Durza is one creepy shade. At one point he looks like he just ate...blood. - ![]()

Christopher Paolini is quite young, and it is his his first book. But I wouldn't call him a child. - ![]()

Eragon is so bad that Narnia looks like a masterpiece compared to it.

And even as an Earth-bound-Star-Wars adventure, it was a fun movie.

Just got back from The Pursuit of Happyness, great movie. It's about a guy struggling to provide for his family, and failing miserably, and not giving up. Easily one of Will Smith's best performances, and quite emotional.
