I don't think it's so much the engine - more what you do with it. id et al know how to make spanky graphics technology and lush textures (and blocky space marines) but Valve understand lighting, composition, ambience; in short, art.

Oh, and Prey looks dull. Even the upside down stuff is reminiscent of Dystopia (HL2 multiplayer mod) and all the little boxes stuff looks like it might just end up as a nightmare to navigate. Not to mention in the trailer all those stupid comments, presumably from your character.

I can tolerate with lousy graphics, huge plot holes, confusing 3D cameras and insane unrealism but with overused macho lines I can’t. Why do all FPS characters have to be posers is beyond my knowledge? The Freeman making no sound at all is a much more interesting character, kinda like the power of silence
