Like the title say
let see... i really love quest games
from time 2 time i find myself play the really nostalgic games
my fav game was and still is king's quest but now a days i only play KQ5 and 6 and i'm looking for something with similar plot and/or genre here is a list of games that i played:

Gabriel Knight - all the games besides the real looking one
King's Quest - all the games besides the first one
Day Of The Tentacle - 1 and 2
Monkey Island - all the games besides the first
The Longest Journey - i really like this one
Dreamfall - was nice i liked the first one better
Syberia - all the games
Runaway - all the games

well that's all i can think about... for now

I would recommend trying GK2. I was put off at first by the 'live action' part but I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised
by Day of the Tentacle 1 & 2 I assume you mean Maniac Mansion and DotT? either way, Sam & Max Hit the Road is very similar in style and humour, there's also the newer episodic games which are pretty good too
ZakMkraken, Loom and Indiana Jones Last Crusade & Fate of Atlantis are other excellent games from when Lucas Arts/Film still made quality games instead of hiring BioWare to do it for them. Full Throttle is also fun, and not as dated as most of the others

Secret Files 1 & 2 are worth trying as well, not quite up to the Gabriel Knight or Broken Sword level but, in my opinion at least, better than Runaway. that also brings me to another series to suggest; Broken Sword of course. while you don't have to play them in order to understand them, it's still best to do so if you can get hold of the full series (BS1 is also available on DS and Wii in a Directors Cut which is worth picking up if you have either console)

Can't forget Grim Fandango, definitely a classic if you don't mind 3D, and a good "quest" game in a not-so-fairy-tale setting.

Other popular game series by Sierra include Quest for Glory (rpg-adventure mix), Space Quest and Police Quest. For a remake of King's Quest 1 you can look at http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/games.html

You may want to have a look at games that used the SCUMM engine (Maniac Mansion, Zak Mc Kraken, Sam & Max hit the road, Full Throttle, The DIG, Indiana Jones & the Fate of Atlantis) imo best of these is Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis.

Also you may want to have look at games by telltale http://www.telltalegames.com/

You'll have to wait for Dreamfall Chapters, TLJ-Dreamfall setting is quite unique. Ragnar Tornquist is atm working on an MMO, the secret world which looks adventure-ish.

Discworld Noir (the other two Discworld games are good too, although more a random mix of pieces of the books)
Shadow of Destiny (aka Shadow of Memory)

but really, there's millions of different games. I tend to just randomly pick a letter and then a game from the database on this site and read the review of games I've never heard of or don't know much about

A bit of an old one The Mystery Of The Druids some of the puzzles can be a bit....weird, where they lack logic & graphicaly it is a bit dated. but as the first Point and click adventure i ever played, its nostalgic to me.

All good ones mentioned so far, i have played most of the ones mentioned. also try The Lost Crown:a ghost hunting adventure highly reccomended. Dead Reefs i liked it, set in the era of Pirates. Overclocked:a history of violence an interesting game with a different approach.

Off the cuff, have you ever played Farenheit or Call Of Cuthulu ? both are a bit different from the games you want reccomended. but COC really suprised me, its a survival horror, a mixture of Bioshock & Resident Evil. type it in & take a look on youtube, you may liek the look of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfQ-Xqt-d0A
