I sampled the Painkiller demo last night, Huz. It's quite good, from what I've seen thus far, like Serious Sam + Undying, but varied in its pacing. The physics is excellent!! The sound is awesome, and the graphics are top notch. You can strategize and blow up explosive barrels to kill the zombies, etc. I'd write more about it, but I'm at work and am leaving now. But imo, it looks like quite a promising game (other messageboards are raving about it, too), and lotsa fun to play. I think you'll like....

That's what I thought. When you start the game, did you hear the ghostly sounding "whispers"? Very very Undying. Which reminds me I should go back to play Undying. I never even beat the first chapter after I upgraded my system so now I have to reinstall it and play all over again. Anyone have a save game close to the first level ending?

Aww, eriq, you gotta experience all of Undying. Sorry, I'd send you a save game, but I deleted everything a long time ago.

I shall return and play it again then. That first level alone is just ridiculously longgggg.

You mean in the Covenant mansion? You'll come back to that place later, but in different a part (another wing?), and even more difficult to survive. The dark crypt with the skeletons busting out of the bricks (while you're looking for Lisbeth) is pretty fun (though it didn't scare me). The Lisbeth level should be the next one after the mansion. Geographically the game really sprawls.

The two levels of the monastery (present and past, where you'll find the Scythe of the Celts, your most powerful weapon) are for me absolutely beautiful and magical - first brilliant emeralds in late afternoon sun, then deep sapphires and cobalts punctuated with diamonds. You'll see

I just bought Deus Ex today, so maybe I'll just stay comfortably behind the times.
